Driven by Smart Cities, IoT, Big Data and Industry 4.0/IIoT, not only the amount, but the demand for fast accessible computing capacity continues to increase almost exponentially. Supporting transit systems, utilities, schools and hospitals, the `Smart Home’ and even autonomous vehicles, these systems require solutions to analyze more information more rapidly in a cost-effective way. “Edge Computing” is the key; managing the big data volume and low latency that is absolutely necessary to be able to act quickly and efficiently in an overly competitive marketplace.
This presentation will review the applications driving edge deployments. Installation environments and design criteria when moving to The Edge will be identified. Infrastructure, climate control, power distribution and physical security will be discussed and a migration plan for critical infrastructure components that will be mandatory to support edge deployments. A brief review of product solutions will be provided to insure a safe, stable and secure installation will be provided for the Edge installation.
The audience will be provided with a comprehensive overview of the Edge Computing megatrend and overcoming the challenges to keep cities connected.
